Campsites
STEP collaborates with adventure camps across
the country to provide its clients location specific
programs. We conduct a detailed survey of any
campsite along with partnering only with service
providers with adequate experience and practicing
highest quality standards in adventure camping.
We have been successfully running programs in
North, South and West of India. Some of the locations
we use quite often are:
- Shivpuri, Chamba, Bhimtaal, Nainital, Corbett
in Uttranchal
- Shogi, Tirthan in Himachal
- Dumduma winter camp in Haryana
- Jungle resorts on the Kaveri river in Karnataka
- Vikramgarh, Durshet, Murud in Maharashtra
Outbound Training is most powerful when it is
facilitated in the wilderness. However, the objective
of our training is not to cause discomfort by
removing necessities, it is only to strip us of
our luxuries. All the facilities we use for our
training offer facilities that combine basic necessities
with a rustic atmosphere. The sites have amenities
like proper toilets with running water, tented
accommodation, lanterns and catering facilities
to ensure a comfortable and safe stay.
Technical Expertise
For all outdoor development programs, the importance
of quality instructors and equipment is most critical.
STEP prides itself in its technical skills and
expertise in which we make no compromise. Our
technical team is a set of highly skills mountaineers
with knowledge and experience in adventure for
over 10 years.
The importance of safe and good quality equipment
and gear cannot be undermined in any outdoor adventure
program. For this reason, we maintain our own
equipment like specialized static and dynamic
ropes, harnesses, karabiners, ascenders, descenders,
life jackets and helmets, climbing mittens, etc.
The equipment is carefully chosen and tested by
our outdoor experts before it is approved for
use in the field thereby ensuring total safety.
Safety
Safety has been the overriding concern in all
the practical exercises. This is particularly
true in the outdoor, where the potential for danger
is often higher. Even when the tasks are relatively
innocuous, there is always some risk. People can
do or attempt to do strange things under the pressure
of an outdoor learning event.
You may therefore find some of our safety guidelines
pedantic or petty. We make no apologies towards
it; rather we would point to our successful safety
record. In the final analysis, the OUTBOUND is
a medium for management development, not for generating
danger, fear or excitement.
